Aims and Objectives:

  • Understand how to overcome the barriers when implementing a proportionate care programme of change.
  • Develop and create an informed and meaningful strategy that ensures the success of the changes implemented.
  • Carry out a robust risk assessment that is Care Act compliant, as well as ensuring you work within your scope of practice.
  • Ensure care packages are optimised and they are proportionate to meet the needs of the individual.  
  • Utilise moving and handling techniques and equipment safely in single-handed care packages.
  • Evaluate competency in proportionate care practice.
