Moving and Handling - A Family Carer's Perspective
Webinar Recording
This recording is from our November webinar, Moving and Handling - A Family Carer's Perspective with Carolynne Hunter.
Carolynne’s 15-year-old daughter, Freya, lives with cerebral palsy, severe complex health needs, is non-verbal, blind, requires full-time oxygen, and receives at-home nursing care. As a project lead for the charity PAMIS and an educator for family carers, Carolynne brings a deeply personal and professional understanding of the realities of moving and handling.
In this live Q&A session, Carolynne will share:
- Her journey as a family carer navigating daily moving and handling decisions
- How communication and collaboration between professionals and families can make all the difference
- Real-life examples, both positive and challenging of moving and handling practices she has encountered
Carolynne has worked closely with our Clinical Lead Norma Findlay on projects such as the Scottish Postural Care Forum and has recently delivered moving and handling awareness sessions to empower other family carers.
